AI as the 'Google Search' of Web3

Article source, here.

TL;DR

  • Block explorers like Etherscan are a jumbled mess of watered down block code - but they can be powerful tools.

  • E.g. you can scour them to find out what tokens/NFTs the 'big players' are buying or selling.

  • Only issue is, it feels like you need a computer science degree to figure it all out.

  • With an AI assistant you could simply ask it "what tokens/NFTs are the 'big players' buying right now?" and it'd to the grunt work for you.

  • Today, Solana are taking the first steps towards that reality, announcing development of a ChatGPT plugin.

  • It's still early days - but it sets the stage for AI plugins to one day double as the 'Google Search' of the blockchain world.

Remember the other week when we spoke about the advent of AI being a good thing (not a bad thing) for the Web3 space?

There's quite an aversion to blockchain and AI mingling, because many see it as a jump from one hype train, to another.

And they're not wrong!

Many of the early attempts to pair the two have seemed like a desperate branding play, more than a real functioning relationship. But we shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

One of the marriages we've wanted to see is AI being used to translate blockchain explorers.

Today, Solana are taking the first steps towards that reality, announcing development of a ChatGPT plugin.

It's still early days yet - the bot is mostly designed to check wallet balances, transfer tokens, and purchase NFTs on behalf of the user...

But! It sets the stage for AI plugins to one day double as the 'Google Search' of the blockchain world.

Very exciting.
