The future of creators starts with Web3 (and $20M from a16z)

There's a DAO that's just raised $20M to help creators take their businesses to the next level.

The catch? The investment is in exchange for a percentage of the creators’ future earnings.

Here’s why this is interesting:

  • Creators are no longer just people who amass followers and likes. They’re full on businesses; and they have a massive impact on society.

Businesses usually need capital to scale and it’s historically been challenging for creators to raise money given they’re self-employed, and ‘number of followers’ isn’t a well-understood or respected metric to provide funding for.

    This helps solve this problem.

  • CreatorDAO allows creators to come together, spread the word about each other and build bigger and stronger communities - with the glue being that they’re all members of the DAO.

    We love that!

  • If this works, it could establish a new blueprint for creator funding - one that can push both the creator economy and Web3 adoption forward.

    Two thumbs up.

Here's the downside:

  • Their catch phrase is "Get that bread and get ahead" - yikes!

While the future is yet to be written, with $20M in the bank, a strong community already developing and some important members not only contributing, but also having skin in the game; this seems like a recipe for success.

We’re rooting for you, CreatorDAO.
